Narrative & Gaming Therapy
Service Description
We support people in making real change through compassionate, collaborative therapy, by leaning into what many of us naturally find healing: creativity, play, and imagination. Maciej is a gamer psychologist, and when it fits the client, he uses gaming and narrative work as a therapeutic tool. That can mean working with commercially available games, co-creating stories, or using gameplay moments as a safe way to explore emotions, identity, confidence, boundaries, and resilience. Games give us something powerful in therapy: a shared “world” where we can practise new skills, notice patterns, and try again, without shame. Alongside this, he often draws on inner child work (building care, safety, and self-compassion), imagery-based work (to soften threat, strengthen soothing, and access unmet needs), and narrative approaches where we identify the stories you’ve had to live with and begin to rewrite them. In practice, that might look like learning to face anxiety as a “boss fight,” working through setbacks like quests, and developing new internal scripts by modifying the narrative you carry about yourself. This service is available for adults, children, and young people, and is always tailored - some clients want playful, creative sessions; others prefer a more traditional style. Either way, the goal is the same: helping you feel safer in yourself, more resourced, and more able to move forward.
